The Moritzbastei is one of the most effecient cultural and gastronomic service providers in Leipzig, with more than 20 years of experience in catering. Built in the 16th century, today it is the only remaining section of Leipzig's city walls. Having disappeared under piles of rubble after the end of the war, the Renaissance vaults built from the 16th century was restored to life in 1982 after eight years of voluntary work by students.
